Building a chicken
coop can be tough without the right plans and some guidance. I
had little previous DIY experience and therefore started to
search the inte rnet for some
guidance on building a chicken coop.
You may be wondering why I wanted
to build my own chicken coop in the first place when there are
so many available coops on the market. Well it boiled down to
money. I simply could not afford to spend my hard earned cash
on a commercial chicken coop.
On searching the net for advice
and information on building a chicken coop I became confused as
there were so many plans and guides that seemed to offer little
in the way of step by step instructions. I then stumbled across
the website: Building A
Chicken Coop which really did offer
the advice and chicken coop plans I had been looking for.
Admittedly I thought the website itself was a bit hard
sell with the comical picture of stereotypical chicken
farmers at the top but underneath this facade was just
the information I had been looking for.
I bought the book and began to
read it, the hours of confusion spent looking at poor free
plans and duplicate advice was replaced by a feeling that I
could really build my own chicken coop without needing a
diploma in carpentry and lots of expensive materials. The guide
ended up saving me both time and money. When I started using
the plans in a step by step fashion to build my coop I was
actually starting to enjoy myself! The fear of failure
vanished.
My main criteria in picking this
guide was the ease of use and more importantly for me at the
time the price! If truth be told I would have still bought this
guide for double the price as I believe the content is very
good and easy to understand. The customer service was very
good. I had a couple of questions regarding some stages of
construction that as a DIY newbie I could not fathom out from
the plans. However the support team emailed me detailed replies
to all my questions.
The cost savings cannot be
emphasised enough. I had seen similar chicken coops going for
prices of up to 4 times the cost of materials I used to build
my coop. The only tools I needed could be found in my garage
and therefore expensive tools were not required. I am proud of
the coop I built using the guide and more importantly my
chickens seem to love it!
This guide will allow me to build
different types of coops of varying sizes as my flock expands.
This really is an added bonus as I will not have to search for
further plans as there are plenty of plans that come with the
guide so you are not restricted by what you can build. I will
be building further coops in the future and a bonus feature
of Building A
Chicken Coop is that there are different plans
for different types of coops. This will allow me to build my
coops to suit my chickens situation at the time, for example
I may well need a larger coop or bigger chicken run in the
future.
I would really recommend a decent
guide and plans if you want to embark on building your own
chicken coop. Building A Chicken Coop Guide is well worth the
money and can save you a lot of
time.
